Loreal Warehouse Sales
Yes. If you were at the Loreal Warehouse sales last Thursday in Dataran Hamodal, PJ, I was one of the crazy women grabbing every Loreal/Maybelline/Garnier product like they were gold ! LOL !
My colleague and I snuck out to Dataran Hamodal during lunch time (and yes, we sacrifice our lunch time to go shopping) last Thursday. And boy, it was well worth it! The items there are sold at AT LEAST 50% off the normal price. If you are a Loreal fan, this event is not to be missed.
I’ve been using Loreal products on and off. I like their White Perfect skincare range. I’ve also been icthing to try out Loreal’s True Match range. I got them there all in the warehouse sales and at a cheap cheap price ! Check them out :
Cleanser and toner from White Perfect range - RM10 per set
Day and night cream from White Perfect range - RM25 per set
Garnier eye cream - RM10
Double Essence also from White Perfect range - RM25
Maybelline UV Base in purple (anti-dullness) - RM10
My favourite Mascara Maybelline XXL (the last waterproof mascara that I managed to grab !)- RM25
Loreal White Perfect PEEL - RM35
I also grabbed the True Match foundation for RM25 (or was it RM30? don’t remember) and True Match compact powder refill(the compact powder was sold out so I grabbed the refill) for RM20. Sorry no photos.
This is actually the first time I’ve been to a Loreal Warehouse sales. According to some ‘veterans’, this is held every 2 times a year and the deals are really great, as you can see from my purchases.
The fastest item to dissappear were the Loreal makeup removers. Next I guess was the waterproof mascaras, based on the fact that I managed to grab 1 (ONLY!) mascara.
Some of the items I grabbed, I’ve tried before like that White Perfect range, Maybelline XXL mascara. The others I’ve not tried them, but am eager too. I will write some review on the items once I’ve tried it.
One interesting purchase is the Loreal White Perfect PEEL. I’ve not seen this sold anywhere before, but I have read about it on magazines and some Singapore website. This product is a at-home peeling kit. Something like a chemical peel, but much milder and can be done without professional help. It claims to brighten brown spots and reduce skin dullness. Well, anything that says brighten brown spots, I’m in. I have lots of brown spots on my cheeks…arrrggghh. I definitely will try this and review it later.
I sound like a frog
I’m sick once again, the usual ’set lunch’, you know, sore throat, flu, cough. :((
Last weekend, my sore throat caused me to lose my voice a bit. At times, I croaked. At times, I sounded like Eric Tsang. LOL ! And perhaps Hubs has never seen me lose my voice before, he can’t quite believe it. When he called to check on me, he kept asking me ‘why you sound like that?‘, I told me ‘I sore throat mah‘….then he was like ’??…..you were sleeping is it?‘….Me : ‘*croaking*No, I lost my voice‘….Hubs : ‘why you sound like that??…‘ LOL !
Now, sore throat is no more. It’s been replace with non-stop coughing. Cough till I can’t sleep at night. I initially resisted taking any medication, but since I can’t sleep, I took cough syrup at night to help me sleep.
Ah well, at least I’m recovering fairly quickly this time. 3-4 years ago, when I fall sick it takes 2-3 weeks to fully recover even if it’s just flu and cough. Back then, my usual dinner were at the mamak and I don’t eat fruits. A better diet really makes a difference.
This morning when I woke up, there’s a cup of boiled apple water waiting for me at the dining table. Hubs has made them for me :)) According to him, boiled apple water helps worrr…
Did it work ? erm…still coughing like crazy worr…
dear…I think I need a few more cups…. ;p
On Leave
I’m taking leave tomorrow and next Monday. Yeahhh….
Just want to take a short break from work. So that I don’t have to think of work work work and work these few days.
I told hubs that I’ll be on leave these few days, and he asked me :
Hubs : On leave ah? On leave to do what?
Me : Not to do what, it’s so that I can do nothing!
duh….
Ramblings from the present
Recently, my close friend from the office IM (instant message) me :
Friend : hey….did you know that you are the latest gossip news in the office?
Me : What?! I didn’t know! what’s the gossip about? geez…is it about me getting pregnant?? (which I’m so not!)
Friend : No la, there’s news say that you resigned. Because your husband opened wedding shop, so you resigned to be ’si tau por’ (lady boss)
Me : WHAT!!! Like that also can!!! I wish la….
Friend : Don’t know….I heard from team ‘A’
Me : WHAT!!!!! Team ‘A’ ? I don’t even know people from team ‘A’
Me : ohhh…I didn’t know I’m so famous?
;P
Ramblings from the past
In one of the previous company that I worked with, there was a company secretary. She’s the sort who spoke perfect English, has the perfect hair, makeup and perfect little secretary skirts.
One day, she called my extension looking for my team leader. So, I passed her call to my team lead. After talking to her, my team lead turned to me and said that Ms. Secretary said that I had bad phone etiquette……
wtf ? !
I replied to my team lead :
“Well, thank goodness I don’t work as a secretary, eh?”
;P
How hubs wrecked my laptop
hmm…this is a bit difficult to explain. See, my laptop actually belongs to my company. It’s my work computer. But because I do support work, I bring home my laptop with me everyday. It’s practically with me most of the time. Other from work stuff, I also have my own personal stuff in there (though I’m not suppose to :P)
Anyway, because it’s a work computer, the user created to login into this computer is not a local user. A local user is where when you start up the computer and login, you’ll be logging into ‘this computer’. The user in my computer is actually a domain user. The domain user enables me to connect to my office’s local area network. So when I’m in the office network, I’m connected to other computers, printers, etc etc.
The configuration for a domain user is different from a usual local user. If you view the properties at ‘My Computer’, a domain user is set to be a ‘Member of’ a certain domain name.
So, what happened was….hubs and I bought a new desktop over the new year. Hubs tried to connect the desktop together with my laptop. He was setting the both computeres to share out the internet connection without a router. During his experimentation, he went and set my user from ‘Member of Domain’ to ‘Member of workgroup’ and bam!…the laptop burst into flames.
No la…..because hubs removed the user from the domain. I couldn’t login anymore ! Well, the user is suppose to login to a domain, and since this user is no longer member of the domain, the user is practically useless. Cannot login anymore! There’s no way to add the user back into the domain, because we need a domain administrator to do that. Only my company’s IT helpdesk has the administrator access.
It’s so frustrating because the computer is there, but there’s no way I can access anything in it ! And it was a long holiday then (New Years Day), so that would mean that I won’t be able to use my computer for 4 longgg days! Even if we had the new desktop it’s useless because all my stuffs are in my laptop. Moreover, the reason we bought the desktop is so that hubs and I won’t have to fight over 1 computer anymore.
This actually has happened to me before, and the way helpdesk resolved that was to format my whole computer ! This is bad because I haven’t backup my stuff for months! All my e-mails and documents that I’ve done for months will be gone! Imagine my frusfration!
Being so used to having a computer, I just felt so helpless when something like this happens. I know how dependent I am to my computer. All my stuffs are in the computer - even my groceries list. -_-
But thankfully, thankfully, I called my colleague for some S.O.S and he remembered that we have another user in our laptops. That’s because the group of us were installing some software into the laptop and the installation could not happen under the domain user. So, we created a local user for that purpose. I have completely forgotten about that local user!
I tried and was able to login to my laptop with that local user. I get to use my computer again albeit through a different user. *RELIEVED*. Immediately, I started backing up all my stuff into the other computer.
After the holidays, I went back to the office, the new helpdesk guy was able to fix my domain problem in just 5 minutes. All he needed to do was add my user back into the domain. *Phew*. He asked me how this happened, and I was like *blank face* “I don’t know”. And he didn’t ask anymore. I like this new helpdesk guy :).
Word of advice from me, create an extra user in your computer. Most importantly, BACK UP YOUR STUFF!!
Updates and Happy 2008!
Happy New Year !
Wow…there goes another year. Time really flies.
A bit of an update on my side :
-
Hubs and I got a new computer. It’s a desktop. We bought a Dell 19″ flat screen monitor for RM588 (something like that). Then, hubs bought the rest of the stuff from his friend’s shop (keyboard, mouse, motherboard, RAM, processor etc etc). And he put everything together himself. So there, we have a brand new computer to play with. Fun fun fun.
-
Hubs wreck MY computer, which is my company’s laptop. -__- (more about this in another post, let’’s just say that hell broke loose when I found out about it)
-
I just found out that computer game, Starcraft 2 is out recently ( is it recently or am I just outdated ?). I’m so buying this game! Anyone has more information on this, please update me !!
-
It’s ‘nga ku’ (arrowroot) season is upon us again! I’ve started frying those ‘nga ku’ chips last weekend. Oh, they taste better than Pringle, I tell you. Love them. Screw healthy food. I’ll be on nga ku chips diet this month until Chinese New Year
Well, that’s about it. Nothing interesting….though hubs wrecking my laptop is drama enough to last me till 2009.
Anniversary
Sorry for the long silence. There’s nothing much to update except for work stuff these days.
But today is a little special. It’s our 1st year wedding anniversary.
On this same day we are also celebrating our 6 years since we started dating. We’ve been together for 6 years. Hmm….6 years only but feels like we’ve been together forever
Our Registration of Marriage was on our 5th year anniversary. Now that we are married, we’ll be celebrating both Dating and Marriage anniversary on the same date.
Actually, our wedding day is on Dec 9, but we don’t celebrate this date. No point to have so many celebrations, anyway. Some couples tell me that they have dates for first meet, first kiss, anniversaries, special occasions, wedding dates, marriage registration etc… how do you remember so many dates ?
Both hubs and I aren’t so sentimental, celebrating once a year is enough.
Too bad, hubs is now away on a company trip. He’s only coming back on Thursday. So, we’ll have to postpone our celebration abit…not that we have any plans in mind. Probably just a nice dinner and ‘pakto’ session. The usual, you know. We are like a old married couple already although it’s just our first year anniversary.
Crazy Busy
Remember 2 weeks ago, I blogged about being busy at work? Well, it’s been getting worse!
Last week was crazy, I’ve never been this busy since joining this company 2 years ago. There are new developments to be completed and at the same time defect need to be fixed because testing is going on too. hmm…the perils of being involve in project development.
Ah well, still it’s ‘good’ busy because I’m really learning a lot of new and challenging stuff. For these few weeks, there’s never been a dull moment in the office. It’s one thing after another, one thing after another…bam bam bam…non-stop. Crazy !
I wished I could have sometime to rest over the weekend, but that’s not to be due to the opening of hubs’ wedding shop. Both of us spend Friday night and the whole of Saturday in the shop, helping out. Then on Sunday night, I had to attend a wedding dinner in Mid Valley.
Speaking of weddings, the wedding season is upon us! It’s the end of the year ! It’s not autumn, it’s not rainy…it’s the wedding season ! This month, I’ve been to 2 weddings. Next month, 3 weddings (which I can only attend 1) at the same day (17th Nov) , 1 on the weekend before, 1 on the weekend after! Doing the math, I have to give angpaus to 5 weddings and attend 3 of these wedding. December’s no escape too, as of today, there’s 1 wedding invitation. Oh my dear company, since I’ve been working so hard for you, perhaps you can sponsor some angpau money :P?
How about you? How many weddings and counting?
Lost - Oakley Whisker Sunglasses
I lost my Oakley Whiskers sunglasses! *bawls*
I’m so heartsick now. Not only did the sunglasses cost a bomb to buy (more than RM700), worse, it was a birthday present from hubs last year. I had it only for 1 year, and now it’s gone. *karrrkk*…can you hear my heart breaking? L
It happened few weeks ago, I was going to a ‘Buka Puasa’ dinner with my colleagues right after work. So, I started packing my stuff - purse, handphone, laptop etc into my laptop bag. I don’t carry a handbag because I keep everything into the laptop bag. I was going to stuff my Oakley into the bag, but I thought, I better not because I had to take the laptop bag with me to dinner since it’s not safe to leave the laptop in the car. I didn’t want the Oakley to get squashed in the bag together with the other stuffs. My laptop bag’s quite small. I thought I would leave the Oakley in the car (glove compartment) while I’m at dinner.
That’s what I plan was. But apparently I packed everything else and left the office, leaving my Oakley on my table! I went to dinner then went home. Then I realized that I seemed to have forgotten my Oakley. Searched my car, my house, I can’t find it. Went back to office the next morning and it’s gone! Gone! I search my car and everywhere else again and it’s nowhere to be found. *karrrrkkk*
I highly suspect that I had left it on my table and someone stole it from my table. What kind of office is this!? But, there’s no evidence. There are some CCTVs in the office, but not anywhere near where I’m sitting. I don’t know what else I can do.
*karrrkk*
